This is Choya’s Mutenka Honkaku Umeshu, a premium, additive-free plum wine presented in a large 1.8L carton format. “無添加” (mutenka) means no additives — no acidulants, colourings, flavourings, or preservatives. “本格梅酒” (honkaku umeshu) is a certified category in Japan, meaning it must be made using only ume fruit, sugar, and alcohol — no shortcuts.

This expression uses 100% domestically grown Japanese ume (国産梅100%), and notably includes 氷熟梅 (hyōjuku-ume), which are plums that have been ripened under freezing conditions to enhance sweetness and depth of flavour. The result is a smooth, rich umeshu with a natural fruit character and a clean finish.
