The Shin 15-Year-Old Pure Malt Mizunara Oak Finish is a distinguished Japanese whisky crafted by Master Blender Ken Usami at the Shinobu Distillery. This expression harmoniously combines aged malt whiskies, further refined by finishing in Japanese Mizunara oak casks, imparting unique flavors and complexity.

 

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Perfumed and exotic seasoned woods, butterscotch, sandalwood, manuka honey, pepper, gentle clove, charred oak, and hints of dried cherry and strawberry.

  • Palate: Smooth oily mouthfeel with deep reserves of fruitiness, including grapefruit, apricot, toffee, slight peppery smokiness, and leather, settling to flavors of dark toffee and vanilla pods.

  • Finish: Oak tannins on the finish, providing a balanced and lingering aftertaste.
