Red Star Erguotou (红星二锅头)

Red Star Erguotou is one of the most iconic traditional Chinese spirits, originating from Beijing. Made primarily from sorghum, it is a type of light aroma baijiu, known for its clean, bold flavor and high alcohol content.

Produced by Red Star (Hongxing), a historic distillery established in 1949, this baijiu undergoes a short fermentation period (4–8 days) and is aged for 6 to 12 months in ceramic jars. The result is a strong yet smooth spirit with subtle notes of grain, fruit, and light floral undertones.

With its crisp and dry character, Red Star Erguotou is commonly enjoyed during meals, celebrations, and traditional Chinese toasts.
