[Shochu] KIRISHIMA Aka Kirishima 900ml

Aka Kirishima is a premium Japanese sweet potato (imo) shochu, meticulously crafted by Kirishima Shuzo in Miyazaki Prefecture. This honkaku (authentic) shochu is distinguished by its use of the Murasaki Masari sweet potato, a purple variety rich in polyphenols. During fermentation, these polyphenols react with citric acid produced by the black koji mould, imparting a distinctive red hue to the spirit, which inspires its name, Aka meaning red. The result is a refined shochu with an elegant aroma and a clear, lingering sweetness that reflects the unique characteristics of its ingredients.
